I’m autistic and use a speech device. While institutionalized for mental health they took my speech device from me and would only give it back during my nursing evaluations. If they actually wanted people to get better instead of forced compliance they would never have done that

And now that I’ve also developed severe mental illness they use that to make me look crazy and them look like the good guys for taking care of their adult child with disabilities. (While still ignoring my actual needs)
