typing quirks afaik in the *modern era* were popularized by homestuck, but I don’t know any history before that and might be wrong. It’s cool to hear from someone who actually uses one though, a lot of the homestuck ones were very gimmicky and character based and thus had A lot of weird oversights

if we’re talking about homestuck typing quirks(?) I don’t think there’s any hard and fast rules, you also have an option of changing all the long “i” sounds (wine -> wyn, etc) which would be interesting but i think present an issue with what to do with “I” the letter by itself
