Behr never talked about Israel/Palestine before Oct 7, but after that he retweeted pro-Israel accounts and signed the petition against Glazer. So, retroactively, I don’t think he ever wanted the Bajorans to be seen as Palestinians, since that would put the Israelis in the role of the Cardassians.

Behr had a more specific view, focused on Jews during WWII. E.g. for the finale, he insisted for the ruins of a Cardassian city to look like Dresden. There were also a dropped “Mengele” episode (his idea was later used in VOY).

Agreed about "Duet", but in interviews, Piller and Berman said the Bajorans were inspired by several oppressed groups like Palestinians, Kurds, Jews, Indians, Native Americans, and the bajoran resistance by the PLO. They meant it as a universal symbol rather than tied to one group.

Btw, Behr doesn’t seem very bothered by fascists and colonialists when they bomb Gaza (see Jessie Gender’s video about that). He clearly changed the original idea of the Bajoran resistance, which Michael Piller based mainly on the PLO, and turned it into a story only about space Jews and Nazis.

Your take on Marc Alaimo seems very unfair. He’s nothing like his character: Nana Visitor used to meet him off set and said he was lovely, and she’s not the only one who has said so. Behr’s self-serving doc gave a wrong impression of him.

The 5-10% stat for women fans is very outdated. After a quick online search, I found a 2006 survey showing 22% of fans were women, and a 2012 source saying it was up to 45%.
