Current best practice is that the teacher chooses the best online learning management system that meets the needs of their students & families.
This practice must be supported by the unions and maintained, as it is best for student learning.

For the record, 10 terabyte storage for Google Education accounts in Canada will cost about $5000/yr
Some school boards are lying to principals about this truth. They are telling them it costs 5x more to scare them away from using the domain (force Microsoft instead).

Its so irresponsible of any admin to ignore this.
There are many current policies that need changing.
Problem goes all the way up the chain of command because everyone will just blame their superior.
The education chain ends with Doug Ford/PCs.
They are ignoring COVID in schools.

Schools will blame 'public health' and vice versa.
There are some responsible parents who are reporting their child's illness correctly, so teachers can see it in attendance records & act to prevent spread. However, admin don't need to inform parents at all. Why? Poor PC/gov't policy.

Some bow to social pressure and choose not to mask (even though they know it is an excellent infection prevention tool).
Many are starting to use iota-carrageenan nasal/throat sprays to help reduce chances of infections.
Every bit helps, so I applaud their effort.
Their future is at stake.

Explore & experiment with them to learn where the worst air quality exists in a student's daily life at school. Using that knowledge, some students are consistently masking in the highest risk environments (e.g., washrooms, hallways, buses)

Our class with layers of protection have seen about a 25% reduction in illness spread compared to other classrooms. This means more healthy children longterm.
I wish more would wear respirators more consistently to prevent infection even more. Working on educating without being pushy...

So true.
We are finding some success using our tabletop #CRboxes to help prevent close-contact airborne pathogen (e.g. COVID) spread.
WE also keep windows and doors open at all times too.
Thank goodness for @donatemask.bsky.social who provide our students with free KN95s/N95s🙌🙌

It’s a lie that allowed the government to force women back to work with no paid sick days, no change in school air quality, and no access to masks or tests. Complete failure of duty worldwide.

Parents need help protecting their children from COVID infection.
Best practice:
-wear well-fitting N95s in public, indoor spaces

Many older kids refuse to mask (social pressure), so encourage Salinex ProTect nasal/throat sprays 3xdaily as a helpful barrier (not a cure, but helps reduce chances)

It was a temporarily comforting lie that parents accepted because it was the easiest path forward for them.
Little do they know their children are slowly becoming disabled, due to repeated COVID infection.
COVID has never stopped spreading in schools.
