Was made from 3-D printing a solution similar to the one I just described and it looked the best out of the three.

Unfortunately I do not have the details. I saw three different types: the transparent plexi ones were “simply” made with an engraved grid and then the writing was done via erasable markers. Then another type was made by glueing empty countersheet “trees” onto cardboard and finally a set

Unfortunately I have yet to try them, so I cannot comment. Sorry
