You work twice as hard to get half the recognition and no opportunities for permanency given. Interviews are a case of ‘not the right match for the team’ (they want more transphobes?) or ‘very high calibre of interviewees’ (even when no one gets appointed).

People forget she’s been there since Tim Fischer went in 2001!

As @badambulist.bsky.social put it in Kimmy—it isn’t dehumanisation when they don’t consider you belong in the human race. The end goal of ‘gender critical’ bigotry is for no trans people to be able to exist in society. These ghouls are completely unsympathetic to the suicide rate in our community.

And this abomination is the work of the wizard lady bigot set. Where do the service users get a say? Answer: nowhere. They aren’t viewed as human beings with agency or needs.

Those of us who’ve been around for a while—even not in the UK—have noticed how fucking feral the UK mainstream media has gone. Notice that the peak on the left for anti-trans articles is over 1,000 in a **30 day period**, and the end date on the horizontal axis is **2022**. bsky.app/profile/polp...
a stat i always cite is the number of anti-trans articles in the press went from 60 in a year, to 7,500

I don't know how to function in a world that is so continuously cruel.

Where so many will celebrate this pointless, pointless harm. This will devastate a tiny minority. It will benefit no-one.

So many across our country will comply with this violence. So many others will stand silent.

I have no words to describe how evil this is. Read Cal’s thread and imagine what it must be like for their daughter.

I think about this line far too often. From chapter 155.

Sorry, that’s not quite correct. The first week from Halloween night to the Friday where Patrick does the ‘factory reset’ on Kimmy, I mean (which is about sixty of the first sixty-five chapters).

In terms of structure the time expansion (the first week of the narrative fills half the book), and time compression (eighteen months pass by in 15,000 words) is extreme. And on close examination the characters have to make very poor decisions to make the plot work, but it succeeds beautifully.

It’s the necessary condition to permit reading, which we love.

Hilariously, I won a very silly singing competition (while dressed en femme) where I was awarded a tiara.

Truly, there were no signs…

Here’s the game in question. The lucky word is an anagram of lowns.
