Looking at life from 56 degrees north
Glorious evening of music from @scomusic.bsky.social to brighten a wet night in Dunoon. Joyous interplay between bassoon soloist Cerys Ambrose-Evans, Andrew Manze and SCO. Rare pleasure to hear two Swedish works, introducing me to lyrical Larsson; Alfven shepherdesses’ dance encore added final fizz

As #NotreDame reopens I recall treasured memories of sitting 15 years ago in the organ loft with Jean-Pierre Leguay (not my photos but these give the impression): an unassuming but brilliant man in service of his music. He and his wife (& amanuensis) were such lovely company too

#NotreDame reopening reminds me of the ethereal privilege of sitting with Jean-Pierre Leguay in the organ loft 15 years ago. (Not my photos but you get the picture!) Hugely gifted yet unassuming: I shall always treasure the memories of worship there, his musicianship and his & his wife’s company
