This Veterans Day, let us honor those who fought for our country. Call your members of Congress and express your outrage at what the present regime is doing to end our democracy. Do it for OG Antifa, like my Dad, a WWII vet who survived the first wave of Omaha on DDay.

My Dad landed in first wave, Omaha Beach, 81 years ago. Of the 140 men he landed with, only 12 survived. He was still alive when 45 was first elected. I remember him saying, “I didn’t fight for this.” It’s now our turn to carry on the battle.

My Dad was one of them. Sgt Roland Chaisson of the Big Red One landed on Omaha Beach in the first wave. Of the 140 men that he landed with in his “unit,” only 12 survived. Dad’s oral history is on the Natl WW2 website. Post war, he lived in NOLA until his death in 2019 at 95.

My Dad was among first wave on Omaha, DDay, serving with Big Red One. Of the 140 comrades what went ashore with him, only 12 survived. Dad was 18 on that fateful day, and he still remembered the names of many of the fallen when he passed at 96 yrs of age.
