I just helped a friend who is having his 68th birthday today. He fell down in the assisted-living facility he moved into last month. Congestive heart failure, diabetes, and with memory issues. If Republicans eliminate Medicaid, he will die, it’s that simple. So yes goddamn it, it’s personal!

I just rejoined our local Unitarian Church and am starting a book discussion group based on the recommendations of the Veterans Against Fascism. Our first selection for this week’s discussion is On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder. I made a summary and put it on my personal blog, integraleyes.com .
