buffywardrobeTara wears a rhinestoned vintage late 70s Crosby, Stills & Nash T-shirt with red Doc Martens in Buffy season 4 episode 10 “Hush”.My best guess on this shirt is that it was bedazzled and then resold by whoever the designer is. I guess it’s also possible that the costume department took a vintage shirt and added rhinestones but I feel like option 1 makes more sense.I had a funny realization while trying to look for a shirt with sleeves the same color as Tara’s which is I actually already own a vintage Crosby, Stills & Nash raglan shirt but in a red and grey coloring. Back when I was around 16 or 17, my dad was working on cleaning out his parents’ house. He came back one day with a box of tee shirts and said “I was going to just throw these away but at the last second I thought you might want them”. The contents of the box was all of my dad’s concert shirts from the late 70s and 80s. There was some Val Halen, Rolling Stones, bootleg Grateful Dead, Foreigner, The Police and a few others I wasn’t familiar with including the CSN one. I was in such shock that he had thought about throwing them away because I knew the resale price for vintage concert T shirts is pretty high. I never sold them though or intend to because they’re just so cool and special. But people throwing away vintage or antique clothing is unfortunately a relatively common thing. I saw a video a while back about a girl who’s neighbors were cleaning out their house and found a dress from the late 1800s and she said if they didn’t know she was a collector of antique clothing then they would have just dumped it.
