We use reusable seasonal cloth bags instead of wrapping paper. Haven't had to throw out gift wrap in years.

He has more important things to do. Someone has to post on Truth social or it might go broke.

And no permits for wind or solar. Nukes and fossil fuels only. I wonder if they will permit geothermal?

.25% seems more likely.

Wow. I've used Times New Roman for everything I've written since starting to use a word processor. I guess I'm going to have to change.

It bothers me that so many of the folk supporting current immigration "policy" (cruelty would be a better description) claim to be Christian. Torah and Gospel aren't even ambiguous. Immigrants should be welcomed and treated like family.

I've never been afraid of immigrants. DHS, and especially ICE, on the other hand.

Always been a scam to move money from poor people to rich people.

Read Corinthians. There have always been problems in the church. The real problem is when bad faith becomes the standard. I'm leery of the response that it's only about your relationship with God. If you can't love the neighbor you can see, how can you love the God you can't see?

Next time it rains, would someone please hold my umbrella for me? No? Then he can carry his own umbrella.

Not preaching myself today. The joys of retirement. But if I was the theme would be that the Messiah came to judge the poor fairly and treat the meek with equity (not equally). I probably wouldn't mention maga per se, but I would address SNAP, USAID, and various other failures to follow the Christ.

Except that he is precisely the kind of person the most vulnerable to be protected from.

Political equation: Earth + Atmosphere = climate change = impermissible.

It isn't our lawmakers. It is the Republicans. They are responsible for this. It is their responsibility to stop it. Democrats would vote to stop it in a second.

My guess is that Naomi herself is detrimental to society.

Comparmentalize means you don't have to think about the consequences of your decisions.

Nothing will happen until right-wing media develops a conscience and begins to stand up for human decency - so, never.

None of the teachings of Jesus have been more abused. Forcing girls (and women) to forgive their abusers is immoral. Forgiving abusers seems to give them permission for more abuse. That can't be what Jesus meant.

The conniving may not be universal but I'm against some things, no matter who does it. Gerrymandering is one. Trading stock is another. Not because there aren't good people in politics but because the temptation to cheat is hard to resist.

Not sure where you are going with this. I thought the beginning of the thread was about the SC6 saying Texas could use the Republican approved maps. But even if I thought they were all crooks, there are crooks, and there are CROOKS. I don't consider them all the same.
December 5, 2025 at 6:33 PM
Which parts? I'm not here to wait until I have dissertation ready observations so I'm sure something was inaccurate but I'm against partisan gerrymandering as a principal, not just when Republicans do it. I would have voted for it in California, but with no joy. I voted against it in Ohio- oh well.

The joys of technological capitalism. I was just as happy before cell phones, probably before personal computers, though I've used computers my whole working life. I just hope they are wrong often enough that votes still matter. But the people writing the laws are the ones who benefit from them.

The consequences of the various contaminates in air and water are poorly understood, especially in the aggregate. I'm sure you have a point but we still need to consider the "contamination" of on-going dishonesty, greed, and the various isms.
