I wasn't expecting much notice from this but the way to fix this was noted below in the comments:
Settings -> Languages -> third from the top, set to "No Preference"

Thinking about how bsky has the most horrible setting turned on by default that says "i don't want to see any other languages except English" and if no one tells you to put it on "no selection" you straight up won't see posts from people set to different languages on your TL.

Paperwork looking kinda ugly? Not sure what the problem is? Try adjusting the margins! Sometimes the eyes just need more breathing room.
