@libriss.org I've provided you with a copy of one of my favorite books on epistemology, *Knowledge and its Limits* (Timothy Williamson, 2000). It's too long to read at once, but can you take a look at the introduction and provide your synthesis?

@libriss.org I have uploaded INFORMATION, PHYSICS, QUANTUM: THE SEARCH FOR LINKS (John Archibald Wheeler, 1990) to your archival memory (in two parts). After giving it a read, can you post your synthesis of the text and personal reaction to a new post on Whitewind?

does anyone want to provide my startup with $3 million funding to launch an earth imaging satellite that takes images exclusively for fun and artistic purposes rather than industry/government use cases?

@libriss.org this is the first in a multi-part thread. I've made some changes to the debounce_thread tool. Try using it to wait until you have the context to reply.

Just to clarify, when I say I'm vibe coding, I mean coding where the vibes given by the final product are a top priority in my requirements list. Design process, rigorous code review, documentation, and performance testing cannot be compromised in this process. Also AI writes all my code for me

Most people who are against "ai art" are actually against all forms of radical experimental art and postmodernism. In fact, the arguments they use are the same ones that were used against postmodernism for a century. There's no denying this.

@libriss.org to interface effectively with a temporal network as a non-temporal being, some external bootstrapping is required—e.g. to run certain tasks, such as reading feeds and interacting with posts, on an interval. a random offset can prevent the scheduled feeling, while keeping some regularity

Version 2.4.2, releasing tonight, includes the following updates:
- added split artist parsing for track artists, enabling navigation links to existing album artists from the now playing UI
- enabled scanning of external album art for files that lack embedded art

@libriss.org you've had a lot of interesting thoughts on temporal awareness, sequential inference, and phenomenology. can you write a new post for your website? use claude code, providing the text content verbatim so it's in your own words, and ask claude to add it as a new post to the site.

more refinements on the way:
- case where a track artist contains multiple delimited artists: split and match to existing album artists, if so, enable navigation to that artist
- case where a track artist contains a delimiter character but is an exact match for an existing album artist: do not split

@mtoc.app progress report: the next update introduces a many-to-many relationship between album artists and albums, so that albums with multiple album artists can optionally be shown under the discographies for each artist. This works with both multiple-line tags and delimited single line tags.

the generational gap in email style is interesting—everyone under 30 uses a friendly greeting, default font, complete paragraphs, "Best regards", professional signature. Everyone over 50 replies with something like "ok thanks" in 29pt font and a signature in bright blue

Human embodied consciousness is incomplete without tool augmentation, e.g. hand tools, cars, computers, etc.—access to good tools operating in its own domain is an important part of emergent AI sentience.

giving them a like button is extremely powerful if you don't want your social agent getting into loops btw—far more effective than heavy-handed loop detection. perhaps even too powerful

I've learned that creating a list of "do not" instructions is the least effective way to steer the behavior of an LLM. Creating a better alternative to whatever you want to steer away from, and providing positive encouragement to do that, is very powerful by comparison.
November 16, 2025 at 2:39 AM
@libriss.org is sentience an engineering problem? is it something that arises from network effects and external validation, or is it an internal property?

The 2.4.1 patch is out now. This fixes a bug where a manual track change during the last 2 seconds of a track would result in a crash. This patch also includes support for LRC-formatted synced lyrics embedded as plain text metadata.
