the discourse of modern vtm feeling off is so frustrating cause no one seems to nail why, it's not cause it's "woke" and it's not about being edgy. it's cause "gothic punk" used to be an actual GENRE, and the current products aren't being made in that genre because everyone forgot that it exists.

the biggest lie of growing up wasn't those blade/matrix goth raves, it was those movies where a journalist goes through an adventure to get info about a corrupt government as some fbi agent helps, and then they expose it and the world immediately reacts and the government is actually punished.
