What a year for new players in the Steel City:

34 new members added to my collection and the Steelers All-Time Roster!

That now brings the all-time total count of Steelers to appear in a game to 1,694.

Here are a few of my favorite new rookies! #HereWeGo

Two of my bigger resolutions for 2026 are find lower numbered cards and take pictures of card backs.

2000 Pacific Copper #’d 75 of Scott Shields

Not many low numbered Shields cards out there!

I only have ten players left on my journey to collect every member of Steelers team history!

1,679 down, 10 to go!

One era-specific item or card that mentions or shows each of these players is my rule! The journey is almost complete!

Do you know the two players who played for the Cowboys, Raiders, and Steelers?

Dick Klein (#78 in the front row)

The glory of my collection is that it’s never ending. There will always be new Steelers to add.

Last night, Andrus Peat made his regular season debut for the team, adding another card to my always growing list of Steelers!

One of the sets that pushed my interest into high gear for cards was the 2004 Rookies & Stars set.

Unfortunately I never pulled any Ben Roethlisberger cards from packs.

Fortunately, I’ve been able to add a few over the years from the sets including this ‘04 R&S Longevity Sapphire #’d 75 of Ben!

If only we could go back in time…

This excerpt is from a 1959 program. If only we could tell them that Geri would still hold the record for longest punt in 2025.

History is an amazing thing!

Give me an underrated Steelers player! Bonus points if you show me a card!

My answer: Aaron Smith! Such an under-appreciated member of those 2000’s defenses!

1,662 down.

20 to go.

The 1933 Pittsburgh Pirates: Rugged Beginnings
It’s been well-documented through the first few editions of this series that local players made up a large portion of the Steelers’ early roster.

How about a Steelers card I’ve quite literally never seen until now.

A 1999 Senior Bowl card of Aaron Smith! Steelers collectors know he’s virtually impossible to find cards of, but it’s amazing to find something I didn’t even know existed! #Steelers

The journey is nearly complete. Only 30

My journey to represent every player in franchise history is almost over. I want to continue to telling the stories of all Steelers players! #HereWeGo #Steelers

We’re inching closer and closer to wrapping up my quest to collect one item featuring each Steelers player in team history!

Featured today is 1951 Steelers v. Eagles program, and the two new players are in the top row: Dick Tomlinson & Truett Smith!

Only 36 players remain. #Steelers

OTD in Steelers History, 1996:

The Steelers improve to 5-1, defeating Cincinnati 20-10 at Three Rivers.

Chad Brown set (and still holds) the single-game Steelers record for sacks with 4.5. This was also the 2nd time in franchise history the Steelers recorded 10 sacks in one game. #HereWeGo

OTD in Steelers History, 1939:

Chester “Swede” Johnston scored the 25th rushing TD in team history, with a 1-yard plunge versus NYG.

The Steelers ultimately lost the contest 14-7. #SteelerNation

The 1933 Pittsburgh Pirates: An Under-Appreciated Career
If you read anything about the earliest years of Steelers history, chances are you’ll read that it was just bad— and overall, it was less than the standard.

Collecting every player in team history means searching through some obscure items, but really cool ones at that!

This 1936 Spalding NFL Rules Guide is one of those. Featuring an early picture of The Chief and the 1935 team photo, this item helps identify some of the earliest Steelers! #Steelers

The 1933 Pittsburgh Pirates: The Great Receiving Race of 1933
One common theme that we’ve explored in the first two editions of this project is that football is vastly different from 1933 to modern day.
