The manga is still on my to-read list, but even without it the feeling that there's more happening in the world outside of what you see on screen is very fun (though I did have to go back a few times to verify that a "flashback" was in fact flashing back to something that never happened onscreen)

He DOES have plans and schemes and is trying to accomplish things, they just always work out in weird ways he didn't intend. The second half of the season gets it a bit better than the first as his attempts to plan a bodyguard mission fail in nearly every way possible.

This show manages to make a mostly clueless goofball whose selfish whims end up mysteriously solving everyone's problems NOT the most frustrating thing in the universe. On paper, this show should be the WORST, but because Krai is actually motivated to do things and engaged in the plot, it's not bad.

If they ever run out of money they just have to put out a 1/100 scale that leaves out the transformation gimmicks for stability and I’ll buy 20 of them

The MC is just blindly trying to make a living in an unfamiliar city using unfamiliar magic, and is slowly figuring things out and it's actually nice. It's like the first episode of Reincarnated as a Slime or the first three nights of a new minecraft world.

Like, I get that it's just another variety of wish fulfillment anime- "this handsome cool guy thinks your weird hobbies are cool actually and wants to marry you and live in a castle" is certainly more wholesome than "you were secretly super strong and everyone who was mean to you pissed their pants"

They're laying a lot of tracks for potential drama in the future, but nothing is really happening right now. A vaguely awkward meeting with her stepmom is the biggest drama we've seen since episode 2, but I have hope it snaps back once she moves in with the fiancée.

also to note, leaving the game on for 2 weeks with a billion entities ISN'T the challenge, he's just doing it. It isn't even really helping from what it looks like. He's trying to never recover hunger/stamina so once he built a beacon to regen health the superfarms were just for fun
