And to be clear, I’m not irritated at th GH project. Bugs happen.

I’m irritated at the giant corporation for using his code across millions of devices and not even testing, or even better improving it.

I constantly need to explain that 90% of a product is maintenance. Getting stuff out there is the easy part, keeping it stable over a couple of decades is hard.

How hard that is depends very much on consious decisions made early on. A product dies when maintenance costs begin starving the roadmap.

You're not wrong.

My main point about being judicial about AI use in development (and especially within security) is that while bugs happen, each time the cause of the bug needs to be understood so that future bugs can be mitigated.

For that you need an actual human making design choices.

Funny thing is that we’ve had so much new cool and actually good tech over the last few years, and we’re all happily using it.

It’s not that we don’t understand NFTs/AI/whatever. It’s that it just sucks.

I can respect a movie for feeling if not accuracy. The tank charge against the emplaced AT guns may not be 100%, but it conveys the right amount of horror.

I just don't get why they didn't put the plot during the Ardennes offensive, would have made much more sense.

Also, their aim isn't to knock out the tank, their aim is to go do whatever hairbrained thing they were supposed to according to the plot.

They're infantry. They're not bound to roads. Just walk around the static tank.

I think it's more how the Tiger is in an excellent ambush position, likely with further ones behind it, yet for some unfathomable reason decides to charge.

So I think your take is more likely – Tiger commander was just some dork.

"No predatory intent"

...yeah...like that's not how that works?

Likewise, though it's dampened from watching everyone go around the same shit carousel with LLMs.
