Enjoying hardware and games from ISA to AGP graphics, with a special love for old sound cards.
It has drivers of its own, but once flashed with GUS PnP firmware, it uses those instead and is detected as such, with the only limitation that a real GUS PnP could have the memory expanded to 8 MB whereas this card cannot have more than 1 (which is enough to set it into classic GUS mode, though).

Also if you have 925 and 931, could you possibly record a track on each, so we can hear the difference?

Looking forward to listening to them!
I totally agree that it doesn't have to sound the same to be good - ESFM for instance sounds different in a good way, and I don't quite understand the S3FM hate either. Some instruments aren't as great but it has the coolest noise generator of all FMs!

I only head people complain about it so far, how would you describe it compared to OPL3 or your regular FM synth of choice?
Genuinely interested, because I also heard people complain about ALS100+ and that one is a straight pirated copy of the OPL3 that according to them sounded so much better.

Oh right, and just like the Gecube card, this one is also factory overclocked to 525, so if the memory lives up to its spec, we've got a passive cooled champion on our hands that doesn't need more than 25 Watts!

I just might aim some 4500 RPM 120x25mm fans at it and if it's any good, give it some fresh Thermal Grizzly Duronaut and an active Zalman cooler or some such...

The PCB seems identical to one sold by Gecube with a different cooler, and with the same GPU and memory chips techarp.com was able to OC it to 547/810 MHz - again without an auxiliary power source, only the AGP voltage was raised to 1.7V.

Yeah no, the german dub changes A LOT.
Some of it barely has anything to do with the original text.
The german fans actually like that about it, but I was exposed to it too late, and without nostalgia glasses it doesn't live up to the (niche) hype.

German here.
It's really more of a Gen X thing, and only due to the german dub that went over the top with boomer humor and fart jokes.
If you're an adult and not high while seeing this for the first time, it is just a weird mixture of boredom and cringe.

of five(!) minigames with only that Buddy that vanishes after 3 turns as a reward, but as soon as someone PASSES you he steals him away.
What nonsense is this? Either cut the stupid minigames and give them to the first player hitting their field directly, or let the player who won them keep them.

Fair, I meant mostly how would I make use of these outputs while keeping the limitations of performance in mind, like I could try building an arcade emulator or something like that.
