The great thing is that people who read get it, and people who don't pay attention just know "Trump is President" if this comes to pass so they'll ALSO blame Republicans.

My peeve: You no longer need to buy 11 tubes of toothpaste at the same time to get the discount. Instead must remember to digitally clip each coupon in the Jewel app as you shop, and be ready to be met with a shrug when random promised discounts don't appear in your phone's scanner or at register

If it's a compelling state (ie federal) interest to enforce who can live next to who, maybe they can go after Texas's land use policies because Id' MUCH rather live next to a family of immigrants or refugees, than live next to a fertilizer factory.

From what I understand about rescissions that's the real issue. They can agree on any budget, just to have the executive refuse to spend the money on Dem priorities and claw back the money later. So what's the point of voting yes on ANY budget if that's just what's gonna happen?

They'll have to go after NextDoor and Signal too. Very active Chicago communities reporting ICE sightings. Facebook isn't the be-all in this space

I own and live in a 4 unit apartment bldg in Chicago and it's comforting to know that ICE can just rappel down, break all my windows and doors, loot the place, and detain all the tenants for hours in zipties if they feel like it.

Hate to say but the video's out of context. Chicago uses our snow/sand trucks as barriers during planned events (especially after people drove into crowds like in Nice and New Orleans). These were used for the weekend's Taste of Chicago event, with some to protect yesterday's anti-ICE protest route
