Wake up. Make breakfast. Do email. Watch a murder. Go to a party for a 5 year old. Laugh with my daughter. See a different angle of that murder. Hear govt officials slander the victim. Play Barbies with my kid. Feed her dinner. Tear up at that victim reading last honors to a vet. Put kid to bed. USA

An unfortunate consequence of taking an undergraduate Distributed Systems class was developing an unhealthy level of fear about doing anything substantial with Paxos or Raft at work.

I took a spin class and there was an older man in there who would shout a “HEEEYUP” every time the tempo changed. All I have for now as I’m still processing it.

Using Cursor or a similar LLM-in-editor tool to rapidly understand a large foreign codebase is just an amazing thing. Today I read the @influxdb.com source and had it generate diagrams of the write path. Far more productive than the old way.

These are neighborhoods with 17K–22K residents per square mile. Aside from being a disproportionate response, they are intentionally terrorizing people who aren’t involved.

I took the day off for a North Cascades hangout/camp with my friend. When I got there he immediately had to bail because his daughter got injured back at home. So instead I went on an all-day joy drive and fished creeks, Skagit and Sauk rivers and ate Dairy Queen. it was a very good solo day.

we have a puppy. i have been cleaning up so much poop. there’s work going on in the yard where he normally goes. so now he’s only comfortable, apparently, going in the living room. the vile odor is burned into my subconscious memory and i can’t tell if i’m currently smelling it.

that’s all for now!

"[video game] as a community theater production" may be one of the most delightful Veo 3 Fast prompts

Please enjoy, in order: GTA, Pokemon, Mario Kart, The Witcher 3, Stardew Valley, Tetris, Mortal Kombat, The Sims, & Death Stranding.

The whole prompt was the one above. And the glitches add to it

I somehow missed that libbpf-tools was a thing. This package is so minimal and lightweight that I would not be worried about installing it on a busy production system, compared to the massive dependency bloat of bcc-tools.

If Amazon had a regex search we’d be able to filter out brands like JOMRTS and DAVBIR. (Of course, it would just be a moved goalpost.)
