IMO Star Wars is big enough for different storys. Movies were epic fantasy. Andor was Spy\heist\prison break. Clone Wars was wartime drama. The Mandalorian (first two seasons) was a western.

If I have to choose, and I don’t want to because I love books from all those time periods, but if I had to choose, it would be futuristic. There is so much that you can do with futuristic settings as the future is not yet written in our history.
