Such brave, enlightening and necessary conversations going on in this podcast from Standing Together between Sally and Jess, Palestinian and Jewish citizens of Israel. This is peace work. @standing-together.bsky.social

The artwork keeps moving about
We want to feel ourselves knitted into the Earth system, and so we treasure local connection. This is good, but failing to tune into the global picture is a form of disconnect. We need to cultivate balance between enmeshing ourselves locally and being curious about the whole planetary system.
Been holding out for this episode. Even though I listen to @richardjmurphy.bsky.social regularly, I still needed to slow it down and keep rewinding. So good to hear this stuff in the conversation. I also recommend Murphy's bite-sized daily podcast Funding the Future.

Be careful how you use that word - 'they'.

What comes after neoliberalism?

I'm dreaming of a massive physical dashboard somewhere, preferably outsider number 11, like a cricket score board, measuring equality, wellbeing and climate/bio impact.
This one's a cracker. Richard Murphy for chancellor.
Right-wing commentators claim inequality in Britain is falling. It isn’t. In this video, I expose the real story behind Britain’s growing inequality and why official data is misleading, as well as suggesting what we need to do to tackle this issue. youtu.be/WhFPzDWOQzk?...
Is Britain's inequality really decreasing?

We are still all doing split thinking - compartmentalizing inconsistent stuff that we can't reconcile. It's a (dubious) survival strategy, and it's not just politicians

Climate scientists fly more than other researchers, first global study suggests
Cardiff University research also suggests climate researchers do more to offset their flying

So that you don't unwittingly send kids, old people and pets flying! I'm always grateful for the sedate pace myself.
'Our party is changed.' We noticed.
I'm all for protecting the super rich, just not their riches.
Great insight from @graceblakeley.substack.com in the last episode that a key motivation for taxing wealth is actually distributing power, it's not just to fund public services. 4/2
I'm also super-excited you discussed the practicalities of the different ways of taxing wealth, which was one of the reasons I suggested this get together. 3/2
(I say that as someone who's cared for young people with dyscalculia and organisational difficulties as well as elderly family members with dementia.) 2/2
So excited this happened! So many massive topics to chew over and get into the general conversation. Can't wait to hear it. I like universal basic services over income for the simple reason that if you misspend your income, you still need basic services. Planning isn't everyone's strong suit. 1/2
OMG it's happening! Feeling a rare moment of 'heard' 😍😎🙂🙂🙂
I absolutely adore Feral - books with this much heart, that are also informative, don't come along often. Sandor Katz' Wild Fermentation was one, Nick Hayes' Book of Trespass another.

We need to bring both head and heart to the table in these times. 3/3
I feel like Feral and Regenesis would be perfect as a box set, as neither is really complete without the other. Feral does everything to meet people where they are, which Regenesis does too, but not so fully. 2/3
Having read @georgemonbiot.bsky.social's Regenesis and The Invisible Doctrine, I went back and listened to 'Feral'. OMG. Was expecting reasoned argument, and of course I got that, but really Feral is the heart to the Regenesis head. Didn't want it to end. So beautifully read by George too ... 1/3
