Pokémon Legends: Z-A

finally, a step in the right direction

huge improvements over SV. new combat system is great, characters and story are really fucking good, banging OST, new megas are (mostly) rly good, fun progression and gameplay loop

i wish they put some fucking effort into visuals

one final note bc i forgot to say it is. and it might be a bit early to judge so take it with a grain of salt. but i dont think i would've ever gotten this game for 70/80 bucks

i can't lie this is fun but idk if this is worth that full price so im happy to have paid like Half for it

overall, though i do feel a bit like there's something slightly off with the pacing (which might end up resolving itself by getting further into the game, im still only rank X), this is shaping up to be a fun experience

its definitely much better than shartlet and violence. lmao

theres some rly neat little things and attention to details

optional interior areas you can explore, little tidbits of lore, cafes and benches where you can take cool pics w your pokemon

and while im at it, the camera mode is an insane improvement over SV's jesus christ

the writing is unironically great. had some really funny moments already. Naveen is hilarious

i like the characters so far. character design is fucking on point, even for generic NPCs. customisation also goes foolish

OST is really good but thats par for the course w Pokemon

story wise i havent gotten to see that much yet, but i can say i am intrigued to see where its going

i will say the intro tutorial portion before they actually let you freely explore Lumiose is...fairly long and slow.

it's not boring to get through, but it Does take some time to finish

the building textures are. kinda ridiculous. as ppl were already quick to point out in trailers

having said that, the game so far has been rly fun. progression feels good and i like the new combat system though i feel like it hasnt quite clicked for me yet

first off, get the elephant out of the room

the game runs smooth as butter (IM PLAYING ON SWITCH 2 I HAVE NO CLUE HOW BAD THE SWITCH 1 VERSION IS)

it looks fairly good, but as soon as you start paying a little too much attention to textures it rly starts to show its flaws graphics wise

ok, so, funny story

i bought Z-A on my Hong Kong eShop account so i could pay less for it

and what i didn't realise is i got to play as soon as it hit midnight in HK

so, i got to play the game basically one day early, and i played it for abt 4 hours today

MASSIVE addition to the collection!

I SR'd this one on an emulated copy of Leaf Green, and was able to transfer it legitimately with some PkHex shenanigans!

Found at an incredibly low 467 SRs with 1/8192 odds, here's Gnosia the Deoxys!

Like all event shinies I couldn't nickname them, but if I could have, I would've named them Iron Serpent and Crowned King, their canon Paradox names!

what an interesting concept. i love how the battle royale itself isnt the main focus of the story, as much as the philosophical implications of it existing
