An Afghan national has been identified as the man in custody in the shooting of National Guard members, two people familiar say.

The suspect, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, arrived in the U.S. in 2021 and for a time lived in Washington state.

Difficult to overstate how profound a failure DOGE was. Spending in FY2025 was not only than in FY2024 – but higher than it was projected to be when Trump first took office.*
