Updated my 1st 9 weeks stats while in between sessions @aaslala.bsky.social conference...what a wild first 9 weeks. Best item I ever purchased was a people counter to help track visits.

A8: My why is to promote the love of reading. By coming into the new school year with a ton of recs, Ss see that it's not just "my job" but my LOVE of books, something I want to pass on to them. My why is to provide Ss with books that they can relate to, that they see themselves in #TLSkyChat

A7: with summer reading, offer them choices, it's all about Student Voice & Choice. They are tired of the usual book report.
By creating the "If You Like" book recs, it helps students branch off from what they already like/know, introducing them to new authors. #TLSkyChat

I love Rex. He's is so amazing. He may come to our Graphic Novel week next year. He's super generous and just so open about his life. I have boys devouring his books. He's been on a few panels I have moderated & I am always awestruck by him #TLSkyChat

@hebron_hs student creativity has been off the charts as we celebrate #schoollibrarymonth I got this idea from a fellow librarian on Facebook. It's a collaborative mosaic, made with sharpie paint markers and wooden puzzle pieces I purchased on Amazon. It's all about sharing their love of reading.
