Also another update that I posted on my server around a week ago, though this one is more just talking about the things I've been struggling with, I don't hide that I'm from Venezuela, so anyone's who's been up w/ the news can guess where this is going since my family still lives there + other stuff

Also its 3am here so keep that in mind while reading, I'm writing this while I'm unable to fall asleep from how stressed I am lol so

Apologies for the silence and the lack of replies/posts, I'm rly damn deep in a depression pit and I just don't see a way out :^)

Between the US wanting to start a war with my home country (Venezuela) and all the problems with ICE as a whole in the US (I have many family members and friends over there who I'm worried about) and ALSO Argentina just going deeper and deeper into hell (all prices keep going up even if the news keep talking about how "things are improving", they're not, my internet provider charged me an extra $10USD and god knows how much my rent will cost next year, I cannot afford basically anything at this point)
As I've mentioned before, in just two years my rent has gone from $65-100USD to $450USD (which is all I used to get in a good month of work, I haven't had one of those in a while)

At this point I'm, quite literally, trapped in this country with no hope for the future. My parents can't even afford to leave Venezuela either and they've been struggling deeply too, I can't go back due to MANY reasons beyond "I don't want to" (and honestly, I don't want to go to the place the US is threatening to attack almost every single day, to be fair)
Things are bad, nothing is improving, every day is bad news after more bad news and I'm not getting any better. Before, after I had to stop taking my meds, I had to choose between drawing and cooking food, I didn't had the energy for doing both, now I don't have the energy for either of them no matter what, I can go hours hungry simply because I can't even do ONE thing anymore, that's how dire it has been, I am feeling very hopeless and discouraged and I just don't know what to do, I keep hoping I'll get out of this damn burnout or whatever but it just feels like coping more than actual faith that it will happen

And I know I'm not the only artist dealing with this sort of situation right now, which also makes things worse honestly, even just thinking about drawing destroys me, I keep breaking down everytime I touch my tablet with the intent to draw, I keep having nightmares about drawing, I can't even draw personal things anymore, there's no joy or exciment to be found in art for me at this point, but that's all I'm good for, so what can I even do anymore? What does it means for me, if the one thing I could do is not longer an available option? It sucks, honestly

Anyway, this is basically what I've been dealing with these past few months, and the fact that my birthday is around the corner is honestly not helping at all, I just wish I could skip ahead of october at this point, but even if I did, its not like next month will be any different in a good way, will it? Like, I have exactly 1ARS, or approx. 0,0007USD, left to survive for the rest of the month, so the joke tells itself at this point
On top of ALL this, my tablet and laptop are both starting to show signs of wear, so this too has been adding to the stress of it all, specially because I **cannot** afford to replace them, the moment they die its the moment its truly over, so, you know, fun things to keep in mind in these times

Again, this might just be the Unmedicated Depression talking, who knows, all I know is that I'm tired, both emotionally and physically, things keep getting worse and I can't push myself anymore, which sucks cuz thats pretty much game over for me, isn't it? I can't do the one thing that I need to do in order to be able to survive, so what then? And there's now 9684 different GenAI models online that can make way better images than what I could do in my whole life, so that's also not helping me rn

Shit sucks and things are bad, I'm doing badly, nothing has changed from last month or the last 6 months, so apologies for how that has affected work and all, my mind is beyond broken lol

first and second take at creature i wanted to make based on @iglooghost.bsky.social 's bronze claw iso.. absolutely love the new EP it's so gritty and grimy and i've had it on nonstop

A mechanical anthropormorphic creature that resembles a crane with a digging attachment which makes the head. It has a rebar ending in a steel nut on each side of its "face" that make it look like a mollusk. It is painted yellow but the paint is chipped and peeling from wear. It has a big fat yellow tail tipped with a drill, inspired by the foot and mantle of a banana slug. Finally, its feet are shiny steel that look heavy and sturdy.

A second pass at the idea, drawn a bit differently. The lines are thinner and much more scratchy with a lot of built up lines. The creature is similar to the first drawing but is more detailed, and notably has a lower jaw now. Its "eyes" have been changed to form a shape like mirrors of a car and glow red. The tail is mostly same but is sitting straight, parallel to the ground. The feet are now detached from the legs which are suspended with different metal cords. The paint is not chipped or peeling in this drawing.
