Indeed. But it was the female technician's "realistic" flesh color and Tress MacNeille voice that made her feel really "Futurama"-esque.

And of course, in referencing "Peanuts", Bart ALWAYS has to be Charlie Brown.
This was also when they began to be aware of the specials being delayed until November, and as such, was the only Kang and Kodos intro I found really amusing.

The later "Real Ghostbusters" episode "Stay Tooned" with Sammy K. Ferret is such a great concept, but, UUGGH, that bad animation! This was at the time where DiC Enterprises's "Do It Cheap" reputation got into full swing, looking all off-model and wonky, even for 1990 standards! #MeTVToons

I love how the sound effect for the knife puncturing the pumpkin and the Grand Pumpkin's "NOOOOOOOOO!" were practically in rhythm with each other.

The first digitally-colored "Treehouse of Horror" special, and also Maggie Roswell's return to the series (originally as a one-off guest appearance voicing Maude Flanders's ghost, until they were able to solve her pay dispute).

Several lines from this were used in Playmates's World of Springfield "Treehouse of Horror" Kang and Kodos playset. (We even put our Astronaut Homer on our playset in place of the included regular-looking "Spaceship Homer.")
