Change – Transformation happens when we work together. Advocate for policies that support survivors, challenge harmful narratives, and foster a culture of accountability and support.

Join us in making a difference this week and beyond. Your voice matters, and your actions count.
Act – Small actions create big change. Speak up when you witness harmful behavior, share awareness materials, and engage in conversations that promote respect and safety. Participate in our SAAM events to take a stand against sexual violence.
Learn – Educate yourself on the realities of sexual violence, the importance of consent, and how cultural attitudes shape our understanding of these issues. Attend our Human Trafficking Lunch & Learn on April 22nd.
This week, as part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), we focus on the theme Learn. Act. Change. Ending sexual violence starts with education, leads to action, and results in meaningful change. Together, we can build safer communities by taking steps to prevent harm and support survivors.
Support groups are a vital part of the work we do. They create space for connection, understanding, and shared resilience. Healing isn’t just an individual journey—it thrives in community, where people can feel seen, heard, and supported.

Prevention works. It helps reduce violence, shifts cultural norms, and promotes respect. Let’s build a future where prevention is prioritized and violence is no longer tolerated.

How can we expand prevention education? Let’s talk in the comments!
At YWCA Carlisle & Cumberland County, we offer:
Workshops on consent and healthy relationships
School and community training
Resources to empower action
Prevention education is about more than awareness—it’s about stopping violence before it starts. By teaching individuals how to set healthy boundaries, practice consent, and intervene when necessary, we can create safer communities.
