So my mom has just… not had many good days the past few years. Her depression has made it tough to see how beautiful & perfect she is. Part of why I moved in aside from caretaking for my dad was to help her rediscover herself.

So we did a kimono shoot for her bday. Look at her radiant smile y’all.

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 176:

Yesterday we visited Green Mountain Falls, CO to visit the kinetic sculpture Off the Beaten Path by Patrick Shearn. I wasn’t ready for just how dynamic it was even in the slightest breeze. Reminds me of a murmuration of starlings. Incredible artwork. It’ll only be up through October 19th.

It's pub day in Canada for Oxford Soju Club. It all began in 2018 as an absurdly cliched action novel that also became my self-therapy. After 5 rewrites, edits, and a TikTok DM from my now-editor, it’s here.

Nervous, excited, ready to share my heart. I hope you enjoy meeting Jihoon, Yunah & Yohan.

I can’t speak for every city, but here in LA, ICE bounty hunters aren’t going after gang members. They’re hunting the vulnerable: gardeners, street vendors, day laborers.

Easy money, no risk.

Folks need to stop pretending this is about crime.
