whenever I post “I would ride to war for [xyz]” I need you all to imagine me riding side-saddle on a clydesdale as Kylie Minogue’s “Your Disco Needs You” blares at full volume.

- starred in a Terence Davies movie as one of his first roles
- cowrote un film de Xavier Dolan
- did “gays guys in a small town” comedy several orders of magnitude better than Schitt’s Creek

Jacob Tierney, I would ride to war for you.

it’s not a collection she stood by later on in her career, but Louise Glück’s Firstborn really saved my life when I read it in high school.

didn’t really want to watch it, but apparently the TV adaptation of that yaoi hockey novel is being adapted by the same guys who made Letterkenny / Shoresy?????

was actually really curious about what you made of Late Fame given it’s a Zweig adaptation / seems up your alley.

I finally have an armchair in my apartment after getting rid of my old one in June and can’t believe I didn’t try to replace it sooner.

Obviously good to read them to get acquainted with the Canon, but you’re much better off reading Mallarmé (or someone like Hope Mirrlees) than Eliot after a certain point.

why am I hearing Stayin’ Alive over 808s and plucked guitar in this chain restaurant…

« Mais la vie te prive de ton amour, Gabriel, et tu fais ce geste sublime d'enterrer ton œuvre avec ton amour, la littérature même n'a plus d'importance, c'est l'amour, l'amour que la mort scelle dans l'absolu, qui renvoie la littérature à sa futilité. »

yeah, I do think the class stuff isn’t great / is part of the reason why I didn’t really love To Paradise.

yeah, I think that (& the fact she’s so cagey about it) what makes her interesting as opposed to annoying (imo, anyways).
