When we truly listen, we inevitably feel its pain. But what we do with that pain -how we allow it to move through us- determines whether it becomes a path toward healing or perpetuates the trauma of what has been lost.
That’s a very powerful realization. It takes courage to start listening and learning, especially when it means confronting what was never taught. Uncovering these truths requires us to face the darkness that was buried.
I appreciate your candor in confronting the deep-seated wounds of this country. Unfortunately, these wounds are not isolated, as similar injustices have occurred in many parts of the world.
You’re right—phrasing like 'ceded their land' obscures the violent reality of what happened. Many tribes were coerced, displaced, or destroyed entirely, and it’s a painful truth that demands honest acknowledgment.
It’s known as Wy’East, but there’s debate about the true origin of the name, as no evidence traces it directly to the original tribes. A number of tribes ceded their land to the US government through various treaties and were displaced to reservations.
Winter asks us to slow down and reflect. #MindfulMoments are the gift of the present.

Winter also brings us pomegranates! For me, extracting their arils brings presence, calm, and a delicious bowl of treats!

#therapistsky #therapistsconnect, what seemingly menial tasks bring mindful moments?
I’d love to be added 🙋🏻‍♀️

Sometimes, all we need is a small reminder to care for ourselves. Take what resonates with you today. 💛

Whatever you’re facing, remember that it’s okay to pause and take what you need. Which one are you choosing today?

Why did seeing these descriptors suddenly feel like a trigger 😭🤣
Trees weather the rain and the storms; shed their leaves and die. Yet despite all this, they continue to blossom, bloom, and grow.

#TherapistSky #TherapistsConnect #MentalHealthSky, what are you letting go of this season?
You forgot to bring 🍌🍞
I can’t agree with this more! How will we ever know the message from the body if we don’t give it the space and time to listen?
Love to see the spirit of the inner child taking space💛
Love this! Animals have such an incredible ability to heal and uplift the human spirit.
Love the sense of empowerment it brings you!
More often than not, I hear countless stories about the toxic culture that exists within academia.

Setting boundaries IS self-care.

#AcademicSky #MentalHealthSky, how are you setting boundaries in your work and environment?
#TherapistSky #TherapistConnect, what is your non-negotiable daily act of self-care?

Mine is my skincare routine, morning and night. I bring awareness and intention to taking care of myself with tender and caring touch. I notice my thoughts, making sure I am compassionate and kind to myself.
Hey #BlueSky #TherapistSky, I’m a Professional Counselor Associate providing online therapy to residents of Oregon. Looking forward to spending time in blue skies as small escapes from the grays making home in OR. Tis the season ☁️🌧️
I’ve started integrating parts work with some of my clients and it’s been quite fascinating to watch them shift their perspectives of their more challenging parts from a desire to “fix” or eliminate, to understanding and extending compassion for the role they have played in survival/protection.
