momma just donated, Humans and Hyenas Alliance was able to purchase their vehicle earlier in the summer but the last half came directly out of pocket which impacts every other operating cost, if you want to help (+can manage financially), your help goes to densaring, conservation + safer yeens awrf

My third artwork for St Paul’s Episcopal Church. Advent week three. This is for the tired, the hurting, the traumatised and the lonely. The write up in the bulletin especially went down well. I refer to an Englsh Folk Band: Fairport Convention and their song “we sing hallelujah”.

This first image shows an artwork explained in the second image reproduced on the front of a printed church bulletin titled “The Holy Eucharist — The Third Sunday of Advent,” dated December 14, 2025. The bulletin rests on a dark wooden table, photographed at an angle. Below the artwork are sections labeled “Welcome” and “Land Acknowledgement.” The overall tone of both images is quiet, contemplative, and reverent, emphasizing waiting, vigilance, and gentle hope rather than celebration.

Three wolves lie curled together in sleep while two remain awake beneath the winter
one beside Hope who keeps vigil not from joy but from faithfulness. This is not the exuberant hallelujah of triumph, but a hallelujah of endurance: the soft song of those who work, who wait, not yet ready for joy, and yet who keep the faith.
We sing hallelujah, says the song not because the world is mended, but because the light still comes. Like shepherds in the fields, like labourers in the long dark, we hold to a rhythm older than words: work, rest, wait, sing. The incarnation begins here in ordinary weariness, in creaturely persistence, in the turning of the year where night yields to dawn.

The wolves echo the candles of Advent: Hope, Peace, Joy, Love, and the Christ candle the littlest wolf. Some burned bright; some have burned low. Yet all are held in the circle of divine compassion, the mercy that does not rush the weary but waits beside it.
Christ, especially, is for the ones who keep working through Advent: the mother keeping house in silence, the widow who lights the candles alone, the nurse on the night shift, the carer tending the frail, the one who shows up to church still heavy with grief. It could be the federal worker, the cleaner, the teacher; the one who is sick, the one who feels left out of joy.

We come because we must, because faith has its own kind of endurance. And Christ meets us where we are not demanding rejoicing, but offering it as rest: "Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest".

In the Christ candle's loving glow, all hope is rekindled it is not demanded, but received. The song returns to us now: even we the tired... the burdened, the brokenjoin the refrain, softly, honestly so we can all sing hallelujah!
