honestly, while r/OpenChristian might be seen by outsiders as an "echo chamber", inside of it there are actually some theological debates

but overall, as someone who's participated on the sub for more than four years now, i'd say it's a pretty healthy space

the church apologizing for such actions in recent decades is a step in the right direction, but i also wish they do more to right those wrongs

honestly i think leaving r/Catholicism and not participating there might be healthy for me considering it's become an echo chamber of reactionaries

that doesn't necessarily equate to me leaving the catholic church in real life though

plus big tech's LLMs have been also used for data mining, and you never know if a pic you upload on a big tech platform or client is being used for AI training

gen AI is death of creativity, privacy, critical thinking and the environment

i'm genuinely worried about some college students these days using gen AI for their research or to answer essay questions

the sources they generate are very likely (though not always) to be unreliable ones and they could present oversimplifications of otherwise complex topics
