Like I feel the best approach would be to be open about past projects that are done, be it about development history or scrapped concepts and whatnot. For ongoing games, just market them appropriately (aka don't leave MASSIVE gaps between announcements) and then just—

Ngl I feel it depends on *how* much info is given because I definitely think companies shouldn't let devs be so closed off but also these leaks are outright way too much info for the public

Following the massive Pokemon leaks I recall people constantly going "Things would be healthier if gaming was less secretive" and given the response I've seen from this and years of following Film Industry Twitter I can say that is 1000% incorrect.

The more info people have the worse it gets.
