I'm so used to see mental illness shown as The Thing happening to an otherwise normal person. Instead, Hello Sunshine depicts life as messy and complicated that it is, public breakdowns or not. (4/5)

This is not what the story is about, there will be demons and ouija boards and also bullies and secretq. It's not *not* that either: friends and relatives are scared and desperate for figuring out where Alex went. There is no frontier between their connection to Alex and the rest of the world. (3/5)

I expected mystery and horror all over, and I certainly received all that.
What I did NOT expect was how fundamentally human the story felt. I always wordlessly knew from experience how disabilities divorce you from humanity, how suddenly there are gaps where connections should have been. (2/5)

I read other Keezy Young comics so I was expecting the gorgeous graphic style and the well-rounded characters, the so believable teenagers. I'm always there for angry teens and bickering siblings which they manage so well. (1/5)

Et c'est très bien que ces gamins soient diag et mieux accompagnés, bien sûr.
Mais la situation pour tous les autres s'agrave manque de moyens, alors on aime pas trop être pris pour des jambons, on voit les grosses ficelles pour nous enfumer (oh no, trop de métaphores charcutières j'ai des images 😭)

Rappel que quand l'éducation nationale se targue d'inclure de plus en plus d'enfants handicapés en milieu ordinaire, le taux en hausse est essentiellement dû à tous ces élèves-là, autrefois non-diagnostiqués.
Parce que bon, en parallèle, le taux d'institutionnalisation ne baisse absolument pas.
