If all you do is check files from a game: you are datamining, sure, but you are not allowed to pretend to know how a game works, full stop. Your opinion on how stuff works just based on vibes from files is worth nothing.

CONFIRMED: This model is actually just used for one single cutscene (the first one), at the end it's not the entire Legends Z-A map being just 1 model as the dataminers first thought.

Listen to me. Listen. If you're making images that will only be displayed on screens, YOU HAVE TO LET GO. You can calibrate your screens perfectly, but then 25k people will see it on their shitty $50 monitors or cracked phone and its out of your hands. Don't think of it. Achieve enlightenment.

Happy 40th birthday to the Sega Mark III! The console that would be redesigned as the Master System and then brought back into Japan and re-released with that design.

Here in 1985, though, we have this cream slab promising real arcade action in the home and going toe-to-toe with the Famicom.

We know now this is utter nonsense but this is indicative of the massive problem that exists in regards to Pokémon, and Nintendo in general.

People post without context and/or knowledge and it spreads, and spreads and people just assume. This has 127k likes...

I literally just was on a panel about game preservation in Chicago 45 minutes ago. The response is simple: not only is the characterization about games and preservation untrue, but it also dismisses the incredible work of film archivists.
