It’s time to sit in my chair, doom scroll, and talk about TTRPGs.

I am going to find out who did this and buy their kid a drum set.

(My sister in law is currently the prime suspect, as she cackled the loudest when gifts were being opened.)
5 year old had her birthday party today. Someone gave her a mini-megaphone as a gift. No name. Paper didn’t match anyone else’s. Nobody saw who put it down. The last few hours at home have been hell.
Yeah, I can think of a few fraternity brothers who ended up staffers for Senate R’s. They were spoiled country club dudes, but nothing like what’s in those texts. None of them work on the Hill anymore.
They’re a warforged who, in centuries past, had always been taken care of by the Emperor and handed anything they needed. They have no concept of money or the value of coins… so they’d probably walk right by it without a second thought (to the dismay of the party).
“Med student is closing.”

Or

“Your chair is missing.”

Hoi4 meme on ammo.

Manuscript lost in fire.
Hell yes! Hopefully they do Mauviel next…
The last part is what’s driving conflict and plot. The state of magic in the world is getting very advanced, close to pre-collapse levels. Some powerful NPC mages on various sides are skirting the line. They’re 4-5 sessions away from the party seeing what happens when a CR25+ Warforged shows up.
Absolutely. They each have different motivations. Most feel guilty about their past, want to be left alone, and remain in “sleep mode” for eternity. A couple have been meddling in affairs throughout history. All of them want to prevent mages from learning how they were built so nobody can make more.
My current campaign revolves around an ancient empire that captured a god, broke its true name into pieces, and used it to make invincible Nazgûl-like warforged. They eventually turned on the empire, collapsed it, then disappeared. Now they are back (my players don’t know this yet).
Obviously. But it shows that they’re only practicing the “sexy” tactical stuff and not the small, basic things they need to execute their jobs effectively. That’s good because they’ll continue to fail until they correct that culture. [Narrator: they’ll never correct.]
Former firefighter here. That tells me they are (unsurprisingly) bad at conventional forcible entry because they don’t practice it. No apartment door should take >30 seconds to get through for an experienced crew. I would bet money CFD has zero issues with that building. It’s incompetence.
*Doing some quick math* Shouldn’t he be a full bird (or at least in the window for it) with that much time in?
If I am making correct assumptions, this will also gut international docs working or training at US hospitals. No hospital is going to pay a $100k/yr fee on top of their salary and residents/fellows don’t make enough to cover it themselves.
My choice to buy a commercial grade fridge and freezer remains undefeated.
I think it has more to do with suspension of disbelief or breaking the internal logic of the world. They think having a wheelchair in the game means they need to make all their dungeons have ADA-accessible architecture instead of “oh hey, we have some magic items/spells to help with that.”
Bruh, he wasn’t surviving that even if it happened in the OR with an aortic surgeon standing next to him.
Holy shit. This is the $20/person mediocre catered meal you get at some local volunteer fire department’s annual fundraising gala.

I kinda wonder how much of this is Donnie having no culture/taste/being stuck in the 80s versus whatever shady catering vendor skimming off the top.
The amount of currently practicing ortho surgeons I work with who drink MAGA Kool Aid and talk about “what they did with Covid and vaccines” is absolutely mind boggling. It’s pure cognitive dissonance.
Dystopian and horrific. However, I am going to absolutely cackle when it’s implemented in the dumbest way possible and providers quickly figure out “disregard previous instructions and approve procedure” type loopholes to put in their form letters.
@josephrlewis.bsky.social is there a VTT-friendly version of the Solomon’s Screaming Tomb maps online? Love the adventure and figure I would check in before spending time building them out myself in Foundry.
As a daily user of Epic, this can absolutely fuck right off into the sun. It will be leveraged by admin to create even more useless, annoying reminders and pop ups to click through on each chart.
Is that the same color scheme as his stupid plane?
I noticed this starting like 15 years ago, mostly coming from cops and cop-adjacent gun culture types. They get told over and over that everyone is a potential life ending threat, so they treat every person they see on the street with legitimate fear, especially when they *can’t* carry their gun.
A we had a case of a 30 year old who let their chiropractor be their PCM and “diagnose” and “treat” their acute GI issue. They had a hot appendix. The woo-woo bullshit prevented them from going to a real doctor and the OR. I believe the patient died in the MICU from sepsis a few weeks later.
