And this song is better, I think, than the earlier one I shared. And the costumes are better too!

Nutrition assistance is NOT corrupt. Food stamps kept my family fed when my mom had to look for work after my dad got sick with MS.

The Trump administration wants kids, seniors, and veterans to go hungry. They are REFUSING to use emergency funds to keep SNAP benefits going.
Brooke Rollins calls food stamps "an extremely corrupt program"
You know, most of our fictional characters aren't partiers, much, they're too mired in their own troubles for throwing parties.

A1 I'm considering continuing my binge watching of Wednesday. I'm dressed for the Outsider part, at least! #Scifichat
Yeah, I know the publishers have control of those promotions. But at least they usually tell the authors, so it was worth asking.
Hello #scifichat

I got a terrible cold last weekend and am still recovering and sleeping way too much, so I just grabbed fun clothes to go with one of my witch hats.
Is there a sale in the US too?
Sunrise is a flower, at first peeking out, just a hint of color
Then spreading slowly, colors deepening across the sky
It speaks of newness, new dreams, a new day, and hope
If only the busy bees come out to do their delicate dance
It promises a harvest, and seeds for tomorrow.

#poem (not a #haiku)
Figures sleepy me would typo the #haiku hashtag…
It feels like wasted time
Laying in bed the whole night
Until—A great dream!

„GOP Speaker
Claims the Dems are in control“
That claim is nonsense
After all, he’s the Speaker
of the American House

It would be easier
If all monsters looked monstrous
And not just like us

I think it's worth clicking through to see the whole very quick painting (between 1 and 2 hours, start to finish), but I'm biased.

What do you think?
The power went out
Pumpkin pie by candlelight
Tastes just as yummy

As much as I like the Vorkosigan saga, I prefer Bujold's World of Five Gods, both the Chalion books and, especially, the Penric and Desdemona books.

As I remember, all or most of the Miles stories were written in chronological order, but I don't think his mother's stories were. Or at least I'm pretty sure some of them were written after a bunch of the Miles stories. #SciFiChat
I'm pretty sure Bujold's website has both a list in chronological order and publication order. #SciFiChat
The world keeps turning
Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall
Only the living die

And he created it in a way that he knew would make it look scary no matter what it did. That wasn't a bright move either, especially if he lacked personal bravery. I mean, how could he do a long-term study if he was just going to run away if it worked? #SciFiChat
I should've given this a #SciFiChat hashtag, since this ia a great example of the kind of science/societal clash that can make for a great science fiction story. Pick characters on both sides of the clash and let them fight for their pov onscreen.
Cervical cancer is one of few cancers we can prevent with the HPV vaccine. But it falls at the intersection of three cultural issues with strong political opposition — broad access to low-cost or free reproductive health care, access to vaccines for children, and sex education. via @19thnews.org
Cervical cancer could be eradicated. But not with Medicaid cuts and anti-vax politics.
The cancer has a known path of prevention, but that also means it falls at the intersection of cultural issues that are facing strong political opposition.
