It may be me being a contrarian but I don't really see the appeal of visiting Japan, the language is so different you'll probably have no guide outside of the big areas, and if the souvenirs are just anime figures and used super famicom games that could've been an online purchase

I was searching in some forums for some tech stuff and I forgot how kind of hassle they were, like people leaving comments even when they don't have anything to add or don't know how to solve an issue, or the usual "um I think this isn't the right section to post this" to a post that's super useful
