Affandi (1907–1990) was an Indonesian painter known for his expressionist style. During his life, he created more than 2,000 paintings. In 1953, he designed and built a house in Yogyakarta, which also functions as a museum to display his paintings. The museum was inaugurated in 1973.

For the past two years, every time I visited Yogyakarta, I’ve always stayed at the same guesthouse - partly because of the cat adopted by the owner. His name is Lanang, which means “male” in Javanese.

Finally, I’ve submitted my first academic paper since I graduated many years ago. The conference committee will only select 25 papers. Well, we’ll see how it goes. Working from home, taking an online course, and writing an academic paper simultaneously is not recommended. My brain is overwhelmed.

This short trekking route, located in the Kulon Progo region, Yogyakarta, will tire your legs but is totally worth it! The views along the route are absolutely stunning. My tour guides and I started at Mudal River waterfall and finished at Kedung Pedut waterfall.

It’s so easy to create content on social media that some people take advantage of it to make misleading health content. E.g., "Here’s a juice that reduces excessive belly fat." Drinking juice doesn’t increase fat burning in your body. Do some exercise!

I stopped by a protest today and heard a passerby comment, "Why do so many police officers have excess abdominal fat?" It makes me curious whether this health problem is common among police officers worldwide. In Indonesia, police are among the professions with the highest prevalence of obesity.
