So in high school I met my best friend. In second
semester he offered me a job with his dad in accounting; very basic and underpaid, but it was A JOB IN ACCOUNTING.
The rate was hourly, so l started working on Saturdays only, then vacations as well, until the last few months I started going everyday after school, plus Saturdays.
Of course I kept my good saving habits, selling candy at school, and just like that, in just 4 months, I bought my first iPhone (5s) in one payment, with my very own money. This was after just one semester of working, and still spending going out with friends, buying snacks, and occasionally paying for my transportation.
Not to mention, being a public school, if I applied, they'd pay me a scholarship every semester. So yeah you can imagine, my dad was also having a field trip now that I was able both to pay for my own stuff, and lend him more money more often. Don't get me wrong, he paid back in time, but that wouldn't last long, as by 2018 everything was about to change for bad.

Eh, I wont lie that the karma gates are a bit of the worst thing the game has, I get why they exist, I understand the point of them but geez, sometimes they are just frustrating

More of an illustrated story rather than a comic page:

Well, actually, there's a fourth thing that could happen with that money. You guessed it: lending it to my dad.
That's right, I wasn't even 10 years old and he was
already asking his own son for money. Look, I understand how 2008 was economically, but come on, he already had several good projects for years to not have savings. (He quit his job in 2007 when my sister was born as he was getting clients for freelance). [There’s a small illustration of my hand handling a $500 pesos bill to my dad’s hand]
And that trend never quite ended. When I finished middle school, I had two choices: stay in the same private institution I went since 1st grade, or take an admission exam for public high school. I chose the exam as I really wanted to become an accountant, and IN was perfect for it. It's a public college which, besides university and post graduate, also has high schools, which give you a “lite" technician degree besides your normal high school degree, so you have more job opportunities before even starting college.

Back on topic, that was the best decision I could've made, as by then, we were already 3 siblings, and there was absolutely no way he could've handled all he did, PLUS MY TUITION. I mean, almost every year he'd be late on me and my sister's tuitions when we were both in the same institution for elementary and middle school.
