Had to cut a beautifully crafted description of a character using a payphone because in 1966 he wouldn't have dropped a dime for a long-distance call, but rather would have simply dialed "0."

I just destroyed this chapter like a bad building being demolished by a wrecking ball. Half the words gone. Different point of view. I don't even know if it belongs in this book anymore, but it's good editing.

I really underestimated how tough editing would be. The fact that it's still 80 F and ☀ in October isn't exactly helping me focus on finishing this manuscript.
