Lobbying group wants tax cuts for oil giants such as BP and Shell.

They made record profits. Shell paid £18.7bn to shareholders in 2024.

Not a word about impact of profiteering on inflation, poverty, costs for other businesses.

The mountains of Eryri, Snowdonia, outlined against a vivid sky just after sunset tonight. Thin high clouds diffused the golden glow into streaks of amber and orange across the evening sky. A perfect end to a fine winter’s day for the iron men on Crosby beach.

It's an appalling situation. The staff are valiantly fighting a losing battle.
Of course, this is not a new crisis. August 2022, my wife spent 26 hours on a trolley in a corridor at Arrowe Park Hosp. On arrival, she was 16th in the queue. She was treated in and finally discharged from the corridor, never once seeing the inside of A&E. The staff were brilliant but overwhelmed.
