To top it off, this so-called analysis leaves out the fact that it was Trump who created the plan for the withdrawal from Afghanistan that the two paragraphs above imply Biden crafted from whole cloth and Trump opposed.

If you read the above two paragraphs credulously, you get *wildly* misinformed.

If New York Times journalists can so easily be conned by the third-grade rhetoric Trump uses to turn any situation to his advantage, what hope does the NYT think any average news-reading American has of remaining unaffected by the colossal and utterly grotesque con job Trump is subjecting us all to?

My god, I could write a dissertation on how demented just these two paragraphs of New York Times coverage of the DC shooting are.

The details of the shooting begin with Trump sending troops to do law enforcement in a city with plummeting crime. How does that "dovetail neatly" with anything he says?

The DC shooting is a Reichstag Fire.

Trump granted the man asylum this spring. Trump agreed with the program that brought him here in 2021. There was full vetting. Trump’s DC op is why this happened.

Now it’s being used to end all immigration from nonwhite countries. And undo the Biden presidency.
The Afghan national accused of shooting two National Guard members near the White House this week underwent thorough vetting by counterterrorism authorities before entering the U.S., according to people with direct knowledge of the case.

To be clear—the shooting happened and was a tragedy. But the shooter was a CIA ally who suffered from mental health issues for things he did during the Trump administration and the Trump administration wanted him in the US. To use this event as a cause célèbre is a massive fraud.
