New from me: Today marks the 50th anniversary of “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” release in the U.S., on Nov. 19, 1965. I wrote up a piece with OPB after talking to 3 ppl involved in this project and Indigenous mental health. I also visited the hospital museum last month.

Just before Veterans Day (or Remembrance Day in Canada), the city of Vancouver in Washington state officially adopted its new flag, retiring the old one that’s been used since 1993.

The end of an era: the iconic Floata Seafood Restaurant in Vancouver BC Chinatown has to close for good due to significant amount of unpaid rent to the city. I covered so many events at this institution that were well attended by federal, provincial and municipal politicians.
