Hello, Bluesky. My name is Jani. I have a 200+K word epic fantasy in the works. I love to read great stories and enjoy deep conversations about games, music, books and great software. If anyone feels the same out there, give me a shout!

Love how @alexandersandberg.com's Balance 2 makes you see red when you're way overdue for a break.

A proof-of-concept, trying to take content from Ulysses to Writebook. Act I: Define how margin notes might look like.

So far, this is HTML, CSS and a JS snippet that transforms Ulysses footnotes into (collapsible) margin notes. Next step, set up Writebook. #CSS #HTML #Writebook

Welp, after 8 years of using the mac, I finally managed to get the spinning ball of death. Looks like Apple really broke something in Tahoe.

In honor of spooky month, share a 4 word horror story that only someone in your profession would understand

I'll go first: Six page commercial lease.

More detailed revision work on Act II. When you have a lot of moving parts, it's sometimes really difficult to determine where the reveals should be. Sometimes I just have to draw things out for them to make sense. #fantasy #sff #WriteSky

AI-generated content is flooding the internet, and we're entering a new era of information overload. Watch our latest video to find out how AI slop affects the internet and why kurzgesagt videos will always remain human-made: https://kgs.link/AISlop
In the middle, there is an AI-generated picture of a duck. Below it, there is a human-illustrated Duck, looking at the other duck in shock, and saying "Wtf is this?"

Today I'm exploring Writebook as a way to host beta chapters for my books myself. Looks like a great, simple solution, but with limited features. Bad news: It doesn't support comments. Good news: it's source included, so maybe with a bit of tweaking... #WriteSky #RubyOnRails

I can’t explain how many times Muse has solved writer’s block for me. It’s an incredible tool for any creative thinker out there.

Apple has chosen Muse as today's App of the Day! Every day is a good day for cozy thinking: apps.apple.com/us/story/id1...

Started worming my way through Act II today. Kind of scary because there are parts in here I haven’t touched in over a year. #fantasy #sff

Yesterday, I managed to finish revising Act I. MILESTONE 🎉

Before diving into Act II, I decided to write a short story for an upcoming anthology from a bunch of different writers. It was super fun to write this, and I can't wait to share it with you once it comes out! #fantasy #sff

I have 5000 words of writing left to revise in Act I of my WIP. This is a huge milestone. I've thrown the story around so much since its inception, this is the fifth iteration of it.

But it's now sitting right where it's supposed to be, and there is finally light at the end of the tunnel! #sff

Yes! I've been using it ever since I went independent and it helped get through some tough stretches. Super excited to see what v2 improves!

This is truly a beautifully designed app for time tracking and focused work, and it's incredible how much can be packed into a single, banner-like interface. Just goes to show how much love indie apps get from their devs.

I spent 1,000+ hours over the past year and a half obsessing over every detail.

Today, I’m excited to finally share Balance 2 — redesigned to help you track time more mindfully.

I found some writing from 2020 to go with the daily sketchbook. Honestly, this is like reading my old diary. Only more cohesive. (Also, will I ever not feel stupid when coming up with thumbnails? Will I one day be cringe proof?)

I just randomly stumbled on this in my feed, but I can’t explain how amazingly awesome this whole idea of stuffing an entire RPG into an old cassette case is!

I have finished my submission for the Cassette Case Game Jam, put on by @axiomdelver.bsky.social: itch.io/jam/cassette...

If you snag it, I'd love it if you could donate any amount to the Trevor Project for their life-saving work: give.thetrevorproject.org/fundraiser/6...

There's always that one chapter that's all fun before things start going sideways. If only they knew what was coming... #fantasy

Writing prompts are fun! Last week one inspired me to write a short story entirely in the form of a computer terminal. The hardest thing? Conveying a story with 3-word system responses! #sff

I’m on Apple, so I’ll probably completely miss out on this. Then again, I’ve had BG3 in my library since 2023 and never found the time to get past the character creation screen…

Just finished revisions on Chapter 3 of my WIP. I still find it incredible how the mere act of writing can make you *feel* adrenaline. #fantasy

That does look incredible. Shame it's Windows only...

Writing space, outliner/mind-mapper, freeform...all great tools inside a writer's toolbox. But every time I have to copy-paste stuff out of one app into another, I keep wishing apps like Ulysses and @mindnode.com and @museapp.bsky.social could just talk to each other's databases
