The trailblazing transgender rights activist Miss Major has passed away at the age of 78.

Miss Major was a lifelong organizer and participant in the ballroom scene. She took part in the 1969 Stonewall Riots and was injured by the police — but she kept fighting.

Miss Major Griffin-Gracy passed away today according to the House of GG. She was a veteran of the Stonewall rebellion and a lifelong organizer for the safety and dignity of trans people, sex workers, and the incarcerated. She came from the same generation and milieu as Marsha and Sylvia. She was 78.

Most "classics" are boring as fuck to a modern reader in no small part because the context of the story is not understood by them and so many of the allusions and "inside jokes" known to then-contemporary readers have been lost in time and in translation

Asshole husband is a terrible person. He's basically a republican trad wife dude who is trying to conversion therapy himself. The movie is about how queerness is good and natural if you just embrace it and become the vampire you are meant to be.

We are introduced to "mother" lying in a hammock petting the head of his manservant as asshole husband tells him over the phone about his marriage. "What you did wasn't foolish, it was merely unrealistic." is the most withering takedown. This movie is about self-hate being destructive.
