Ahhh, finally...

So it took much fiddling to get the formatting right - Amazon KDP kept printing the main text microscopically tiny.

But finally... FINALLY...!

'Two Brothers Went Fishing' is now out in paperback.

Just in time for Christmas.

Tried out Apple's AI writing tools with something I've been working on.

Didn't seem inclined to help.

Apple AI was asked to make the highlighted text more concise.

Apparently, the full Warhol quote was actually “In the future, everyone will be famous for 15 minutes, then disgraced.”

I’m going to take this as a sign to take the day off from posting, and I think you should too.

When Douglas Coupland wrote this about 30 years ago it seemed huge, and it just seems so quaint now.

ICE getting tailed like it’s a heist movie. Chicago is turning the tables.

Sidenote: Shit blue v-neck on Bill Burr there. Manages to look an even bigger dickhead than Michael Douglas in Basic Instinct. Never saw I’d see the day.

Say what you like about the Riyadh Comedy Festival, it got people talking about Saudi Arabia. Maybe that was the genius plan those comedians had all along.

Jimmy Carr will probably claim it was, donate his appearance fee to Amnesty or something. Write off the tax.

The Sad Spectacle of American Comedians Selling Out in Saudi Arabia
It turns out that edgy free-speech warriors will scuttle their principles for a check from a brutal autocratic regime.

Hmmm. Heat is one of my favourite films, plus I read the Heat 2 novel and really liked it. So this is exciting.

But also a bit iffy. Making that story work; recasting those characters. How?

Could be great, but getting a slight Megalopolis vibe.

Just had one of those random unexpected encounters with someone who turns out to be a rightwing nutjob.

Someone who in all other respects seems alright but then suddenly goes “I actually really like Trump.”

(not American, btw)

You just never get used to it, do you?

On the rare occasions I do look at Instagram, I want bland and inconsequential.

What I do not want is some random arsehole whinging about how someone apparently criticised him for moving to Bali to avoid paying taxes in Australia. And then bragging how in Bali they have servants.

Tosser.

“Whose idea was this again?”

Me, to wife, watching son trying to get ready for school.

Well I think we can once and for all conclude that AI is shite then.

Big spate of these articles lately. "Job hugging" sounds like what 99% of employed people have done forever: met minimum requirements in an undesirable situation because they needed the money.

Big news to journalists though, apparently. Have a load of them all hit their glass ceiling at once?
What to do if you hate your job but can’t afford to leave
It’s a bad time to be between jobs, and the trend among younger and mid-career workers has shifted from job hopping to a phenomenon dubbed “job hugging”.

Trump giving speeches these days just comes across as a man who knows he’s almost done and can see the great edifice of unreality he’s created crumbling and the truth about his whole life flooding in.

It’s like he’s just making noises with his mouth as a distraction, mostly to himself.

Obviously Miller as a little kid used to sit far too near the screen watching Hannity on TV, and so he did a little squeenie in his pants when Hannity said he was praying for him.

I'm sorry this happened to you

Yeah, Jefferies. He had that one good bit about gun control from about ten years ago, right?

I hadn’t realised he was on the list but doesn’t surprise me.

Please tell me there's a Jim on the bill somewhere and he's not citing Jimmy Carr as a one of his HEROES.
