A US #coastguard boat exercising in heavy swells off of First Beach, La Push last weekend. Mesmerizing watching them chilling in the surf!

For #ForestFriday, a stand of trees, taken during fall, alongside the middle fork of the Snoqualmie river.

We stopped off for a couple of short hikes into the trees - wonderful place and, I felt, superior to the national park further to the north where it was more difficult to get amongst the trees due to the undergrowth.
Another one for #TheRoad, #California Redwoods tower over the roadway on a great drive through #Humboldt #Redwoods State Park.

#TheRoad to #Everest crosses several high passes in #Tibet, switchbacking laboriously up and down each side. At the Gawu La pass, Everest, with its north-east ridge, is just visible (center horizon with the ‘traditional’ plume from the summit).

Oh, that looks very inviting!
#Tryfan, its north ridge, and the #Ogwen valley in #Eyri (Snowdonia) National Park, North #Wales (Gogledd #Cymru). A top 5 favorite hiking and scrambling spot since my teens.

Evening, Cowlitz Chimneys at Mount #Rainier (Tahoma) NP. A gorgeous #sunset last week, whichever direction you looked.

“…a bit unnerving” seems like quite the understatement to me! Great photo 😀
Another shot of the #Seattle #Skyline, this time from the very popular Queen Anne viewpoint to the north of the #city. This is how the city appeared back in 2013, before the new Amazon towers and buildings between downtown and Lake Union had been built.

Moonset over the Seattle #skyline (circa 2012), with the Olympic mountains beyond, for today’s #BlueSkyArtShow.

Buddhist prayer flags, #pieces of (usually) square fabric adorned with images and texts fluttering in the wind on a bridge crossed on the approach to Namche Bazaar in the #Khumbu region, as you trek to #Everest base camp.

Love the careful framing of this.
Another one from tonights late night walk. Manchester is full of interesting architecture hidden away up side streets and snickleways.

Thank you! I love this spot.
Another shot from my favorite bit of woodland, this time taken at the end of fall, for #ForestFriday.

Those palms look really cool in infrared; shame we don’t have any growing in the wild in the pnw!
“Rolling the tea leaves”. Freshly picked leaves are rolled by hand in a heated wok as a first stage of making tea, on a plantation a few miles from Chengdu, #China

Haven’t been here for nigh on 20 years now (almost made it on a recent trip back to the homeland!) but it still remains one of my most favorite places to hang out. Beautiful place and image.
