The deceptively-named “Save Our Sequoias Act” has been introduced in Congress.

In reality, the bill would do immense and unnecessary damage to the wild groves of giant sequoias in designated Wilderness.

Every 10 years, permits to graze livestock on federal public lands—including within Wilderness—are supposed to be reviewed in order to address livestock’s impact on the environment.

A 2014 law allows automatic renewal of permits without review.
